Darlene Aikens Memorial Summer Camp Fund
Marshmellows toasting on a bonfire, bug spray, stars, new
friends, leadership skills, independence - memories, and life lessons from
summer camp are important part of Canadian childhood. But what about the
children whose families can't send them to camp?
Family and Children's Services of Renfrew County has a summer camp program but
it is short of funds, meaning some children in foster care in this area may not
get to have those wonderful summer memories. With enough challenges facing
these children, summer camp is an escape, a chance to be part of something
bigger and better.
Megram Consulting Services is raising money to help
send a child to camp this summer. Can you help?
Call Family and Children's Services (FCS),
Summer Camp Coordinator Candice Benson to donate, at 613-735-6866 ext. 2085 or
drop your cheque off at Megram Consulting Services, located at 3-247 Barr
Street, third floor, and we will ensure it is sent with our donations to FCS!

SENDING FOSTER KIDS TO CAMP: The staff at Megram Consulting Services have raised $710 for the Darlene Aikens Memorial Camp Foundation to help send local foster children to summer camp. Staff members gave a toonie each week for casual Fridays, along with making personal donations and fundraising with family and friends. In addition company president, Robert Cross donated $300 and local artist Leslie Cross donated handmade glass pendants which were sold at the local farmers market with proceeds going to the fundraising efforts. Megram staff would like to thank the many family members and friends who also contributed to this great cause.
